“30 years after making my first Dollar under a horse I am now told I should have had a website. (: So here goes:  Hi, My name is Ben Karbaumer ( hold the jokes) and this is my story.  Born & raised in Southern Germany i got my first whiff of horse hoof as a toddler in the local Smithy. Teaching career be damned, I said.  A few years later i found myself in an American Shoeing School as a teen, followed by several years of apprenticeships with more seasoned Shoers around the Midwest. Looking back now, I'm still surprised where the job has taken me. From Colorado to Maine, Iowa , Wyoming to New Orleans and all points between.  Kansas City has been home for some time and you'll find me traveling North or North west , typically.  I've worked on all makes & models , breeds & creeds and love meeting new people, especially if they have a horse or mule or even a donkey in need of some common sense podiatry.  My specialty lies in making athletic or elderly horses comfortable by accommodating their conformation with my trimming or shoeing approach.”
